Course Overview - Assertiveness for Managers
 

29th October Weston super Mare / 17th November Bristol

Managing people to successfully complete tasks, achieve targets, and please customers and shareholders alike, produces different and often conflicting pressures on your time and energy.  Dealing with these situations in a way that will keep relationships between employers, employees and customers healthy and positive, requires assertive behaviour: this course will increase your confidence to demonstrate just that.

The day will include:-

Management / Leadership Styles - brief overview of different styles to identify where your own may need to change.

Behaviours - defining assertive and associated behaviours together with your rights and responsibilities as a manager at work.

bullet

Confidence Building - assessing values and beliefs that help / hinder your ability to manage others.

bullet

Communication Skills - refreshing the basic skills of listening, questioning and body language as applied to assertiveness.

bullet

Techniques - giving feedback, handling conflict / aggression, and saying "no", are just some that we will explore and practice.

The Future - goal setting and action planning to help make a difference back in the workplace.
